Alzheimer’s Services offers an array of programs and services to support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia in the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Our programs and services are complimentary unless otherwise noted.

Educational Programs

Lunch-N-Learn

Lunch-N-Learn is an opportunity for caregivers and healthcare professionals to be educated about many different topics related to dementia.

Making Sense of Cents

Making Sense of Cents is a three-part financial literacy workshop series for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or memory-related impairment.

The Adapt Series

The ADAPT Series is a multi-part education series focused on adaptive approaches to caregiving for those with dementia. These presentations will support and educate on relatable and practical modifications to every day care. Some sessions of the series will take place on dates significant to increasing Alzheimer’s awareness. Each presentation provides 1 Social Work CEU.

Dementia Risk Reduction

The Dementia Risk Reduction Education Series is designed to help individuals understand and implement strategies to lower their risk of cognitive decline. While dementia cannot always be prevented, evidence suggests that adopting healthier lifestyle habits and managing certain risk factors can significantly reduce the likelihood of developing the condition. This series focuses on practical, research-based approaches to maintaining cognitive health and delaying potential disease progression.

Annual Education Conference

This event is intended to help family and professional care partners of an individual affected with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. It is an opportunity to learn from forerunners in the Alzheimer’s field, as well as an opportunity to meet with fellow caregivers or colleagues to share ideas and experiences. Our hope is for attendees to leave the conference empowered with tools, tips, and a greater understanding of wellbeing and how to effectively care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory impairment.

Care Partner Support Groups

We sponsor caring, non-judgmental meetings where families and friends share their experiences and learn essential information for coping with the disease.

Helpline

Our telephone HelpLine is answered by staff members and volunteers who are trained to answer your questions about Alzheimer’s disease

MedicAlert + Safe Return

MedicAlert + Safe Return™ is a 24-hour nationwide emergency response service for individuals with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia who wander or have a medical emergency.

TLC for Caregivers

Tender Love and Care for Care Partners (TLC) provides caregivers an event where they and their loved one can come to relax.

Respite Reimbursement

Funds reimbursed to caregivers for costs incurred to employ a sitter while caregivers get a few hours of respite.

Arts and Alzheimer’s

Creating meaningful art programs for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers while fostering involvement in the community to build mutually beneficial

Brain Cafe (for those living with brain change)

Navigating life after a dementia diagnosis can feel overwhelming—but you are not alone. Our Brain Café group offers a space where you can connect with others on a shared journey. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with dementia for some time, this group is here to provide connection and community every step of the way. Share experiences, exchange practical tips, and find encouragement in a respectful environment. All stages and backgrounds are welcome.
