In collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, we invite you to join national and community artists as they demonstrate ways to foster creative expression to transform the aging experience by giving meaning and purpose and amplifying creative potential in all stages of lives.
Keynote Speaker
Christine Stevens, MSW, MT-BC is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author, and music therapist. She is founder of UpBeat Drum Circles and has led music and wellness seminars nationally and internationally. Through drumming activities, she shows people the way to creative expression, energy and well-being.
Other speakers:
Beth Beinvenu – Accessibility Director for the National Endowment for the Arts, where she manages the NEA’s technical assistance and advocacy work devoted to making the arts accessible for people with disabilities, older adults, veterans, and people in institutional settings.
Leather Apron Theatre Company – Art through Improvisation
Robin Palmer Blanche – Novelist, screenwriter, and writing teacher – Life Writing
Dr. Madeleine Hackley – Dance and movement specialist
