Charlie’s Place Respite and Activity Center in Gonzales opened in April 2017 and is accepting new clients. Located on Purpera Road in the ARC of Ascension’s building in Gonzales, the person-centered care program operates two days a week at this time. The respite program offers a purposeful day for early to moderate Alzheimer’s affected individuals. The program also provides socialization and engaging activities to stimulate cognition and physical health.

On April 18, 2017, Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area held its ribbon cutting celebration at Charlie’s Place II.
